Bamboo kitchen products include bamboo salt-and-pepper sets, napkin holders, paper towel holders, placemats, storage containers, spice racks, wine racks, and other bamboo products. Bamboo cutting boards are so popular due to their durability and beauty that we have a separate page for them.
Caring for Your Bamboo Kitchen Products
Bamboo cutting boards and other bamboo products should never be washed in the dishwasher, and they should not be allowed to sit submerged in water. These bamboo products should be handwashed with warm water and dried quickly so as not to permit mold to grow.
When properly cared for, bamboo cutting boards and kitchen accessories will last for years in beautiful condition.
This has been the best scoop for deep frying that I have ever owned. You wouldnt know it until you actually use it but it allows you to remove both large and small objects from the boiling oil before they burn and with minimul effort. It has held up well through use also.

We wanted to make sushi for the Superbowl a few months ago. We live in a small town and were having trouble finding a sushi mat in the stores in our area. We found this on Amazon and had it delivered within a day or two. The quality of the product is great and the deal is hard to beat in stores. Highly recommended.
For such a low price, you simply can't go wrong. Its well-made, with a nice wooden paddle. This was exactly what I wanted for an extremely reasonable price.

It's not like you need this to make sushi, a sheet of plastic wrap will do just fine, but for a couple of bucks why not? I used it while making some California rolls the other night and it did the job just fine.
I got a late start on Christmas and ordered a sushi bowl, mat and paddle only one week before the big day. I was surprised and delighted to find it all arrived by Tuesday of the following week using standard shipping. The products are a big hit with my wife who loves to entertain and does a great job making sushi for family and friends. If you're a sushi adventurist, I highly recommend this product.

Hey for the price I loved these things. Bought a ton for use in the upcoming tailgate season. I would buy again. The 10-inch size was a must-buy for me as they fit a container I have for tailgating and the 'regular' 12 inch skewers do not, so I am very happy to get this quantity and at this price, plus it was Amazon Prime eligible, always a bonus.
Sticks!!
Reviewed by: K. Fontenot, Louisiana Review Date: 2010-09-01
There isn't very much you can say about bamboo skewers. They either hold the meat, veggies, seafood, etc. in place or they don't. These skewers from Charcoal Companion did just that, and none of them caught fire either. I've used these sticks for a number of shish kabob recipes and haven't lost one yet to the flames. All you really need to do is soak the skewers you plan to use in water for at least twenty minutes and you should have no problems with them.
These particular skewers maintain their shape (no curling or cracking) even while being used on a very hot grill. There's no "woody" taste to the food either after cooking on these skewers.
Overall, a darn fine choice for anyone planning to grill shish kabobs. Flame on!

Joyce Chen's tools of choice for stir-frying, making tempura and serving-up sticky rice. Included in the set is a Long Spoon, Spatula and Rice Paddle, all made of burnished bamboo, which is heat-resistant so it stands up to high temperatures, especially from a hot wok. It won't soften like other utensils and is resistant to stains.

I received this yesterday. They are very sturdy and well made. I used one piece to stir fry last night and was very pleased. It also cleaned up easy. I am very impressed with the weight and quality of each piece. This particular set (in a clear plastic box) is treated wood. The price is very much worth what you get.
I purchased a similar Joyce Chen cooking utensil set from Bed Bath & Beyond - this set came in a red nylon-string type bag. Same price, but the wood on these utensils is bare.
I prefer the Amazon set and if you're looking for wooden utensils for any of your cookware - not just your wok - I recommend these!!

I ordered these spoons for just one of them, and found out that ALL of them are VERY useful. They are HIGH quality wood, much better than I expected based off of the VERY cheap price, and mine didn't have a perfume odor at all! The shape of two of the spoons are excellent, with flat edges so you can easily have a spoon/spatula, which was a pleasant surprise. Then you have one spatula and one regular wooden spoon. All of these are wonderful, so I'm coming back for more!

A beautiful and essential kitchen tool for the preparation of many Asian dressings, sauces and pastes. Introduced from Southern China in the 11th century, the Japanese mortar (suribachi) and wooden pestle (surikogi) is an important tool in the Japanese kitchen. The literal translation of suribachi is grinding bowl. And that is what it does to perfection. The unglazed ridged interior facilitates grinding and prevents ingredients from slipping and sliding. The traditional wooden pestle is designed to prevent unnecessary wearing down of the ridges. This is a traditional Japanese mortar and wooden pestle with a bonus bamboo cleaning brush. To use: Simply place the suribachi over a damp towel or rubber mat on your work counter. Hold the pestle with one hand and rotate the pestle against the ridges. Use the specially designed bamboo brush to help dislodge ingredients.
5-1/2-inch suribachi set for grinding and crushing seeds, herbs, and nuts
Ideal for making pastes, sauces, and marinades in Asian cooking
Includes ceramic suribachi mortar and coordinating wooden pestle
Sharp, ribbed interior holds ingredients in place for more efficient grinding
Includes bamboo cleaning brush; washing by hand recommended
This is the best deal I've ever seen on such a quality Suribachi, not to mention that it has the little bamboo brush included....for cleaning the grooves. This Suribachi has a beautiful glazed finish and it is the perfect size for your kitchen...not too small nor too large. I highly recommend the product.

I can't believe all the years I wasted trying to grind spices with a mortar and pestle when this clever little device was around. You can grind things up in seconds and also mix things in it, and when you're done, use the little bamboo brush to quickly and efficiently wipe all the ingredients out! It's easy to wash, too. (You might think those good grooves would trap food particles but they don't.) Everyone should have one of these.

These tongs work well. Easy to use, sturdy, great for grabbing bagels, toast, etc... We had a pair for a year (which our 3 yr old broke while playing with them; she does this - no fault in design). I found myself again (nearly) burning my fingers or sticking metal forks and knives into the [plugged-in] toaster, even though I know better. So, I purchased another pair and sent a pair to friends, who use it often and love it (I've never gotten more props for a trivial gift). Don't hurt yourself. Very worthwhile for a few $.

We had another "toast tongs"that we had used for years and suddenly one day it went missing. thinking it would turn up we waited. Finally after several months went by and we could not find it I bought a new one. This model is a little shorter than the old one, but it works very well. The old one came unglued at the hinge point but a re-glue and overnight in a vise fixed the problem. Of course several weeks after the new tongs arrived the old one showed itself between the cushions of a little used sofa where one of the grandchildren had dropped it. ;-(( This is a very useful device and now we really kinda like having two of them.

There are 5 to 7 compartments, depending on whether you pull the sides out, and they are a good size. Some drawer organizers have just as many compartments, but the sections can be too small for flatware. Not so for this organizer: even the shortest compartment is big enough for a stack of large spoons or forks.
It's also attractive and sturdy. You can carry the organizer filled with silverware around without the bottom feeling like it's about to fall out - unlike some other wood organizers that have a very thin bottom panel, this one is solid-seeming.

In the end it's just a rice paddle. But this is a very inexpensive one that is great quality. Bamboo seems to last forever and this one has a nice look and feel to it. Better than I expected compared to some other really cheap ones I've bought before in the supermarket.
The existing picture is a bit misleading. The one I got has a small engraving in it's end (I think "Helen's Kitchen" but it's very stylized and kind of small, so the second word is almost illegible). And mine is a bit of a darker tan color as compared to the almost light yellowish-white look of the picture. It also has a hole in the end of it if you want to hang it somewhere, I guess.
I think I like what I got better than the picture led me to believe what I had purchased.
